Amberley Museum and Heritage centre Nr Arundel in West Sussex
Classic Land Rover Event Sunday 15th October 2017
Supported by Classic Land Rover Magazine
I would like to invite you to the second annual gathering of a wide range of Classic Land Rovers from 1948 to 1985. This event will provide an excellent opportunity to display your cherished vehicle before the winter sets in and meet with many other enthusiasts and their land rovers in the pleasant surroundings of the Museum.
The models eligible are Series one – Series two and two A – Series three (all normally known as Leafers). Should you have something special that falls within the stated time frame or that you feel worthy of display that does not fall within the groups then please contact the event organiser sending a description and photo for him to make a decision on its inclusion, subject to space available.
At the 2016 event we had 101 land rovers on display it would be nice to steadily increase this showing every year.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:- This year, 2017, if all goes to plan there will the opportunity for you to drive your Landrover under safety marshal conditions, courtesy of the Goodwood Marshals Club, around a set route on the Museum site and for a commentator to describe your vehicle to the watching crowd. Therefore it is important that you complete the invitation form and also would be useful to email Colin a short piece about your Landrover (please include Vehicle registration number)
There will be three main categories for each model range and a small prize awarded to the best in category. All vehicles must be road legal and able to drive into the museum under own power.
One: Cat A, most original condition including dents and scratches.
Two: Cat B, most sympathetic renovation using original parts as far as possible.
Three: Cat C, most interesting conversion (road legal) this will include commercial and military conversions.
We will expect land rovers to arrive via road, under own power and be presented in a road worthy condition. Off-site parking is at the Amberley rail station for modern vehicles, and pedestrian access is then via the entry pathway through shop/ticket office for supporters and visitors. There will also be a prize for best classic Landrover derived vehicles not fitting listed categories hopefully this vehicle will be selected by a representative from Classic Land Rover Magazine
There is a small entry fee £5 for the driver, one adult passenger and any school age children arriving in the vehicle to cover expenses. A £5 each concession admission for any additional adult passengers, payable in advance with your entry form. Normal Museum admission rates apply to any other non-riding supporters, payable on arrival at shop
